No Gi Single X

Two classes in 4 days. I’m feeling okay, still coughing a bit here and there. Trying to get some traction going and getting my training momentum back.

I struggled a bit during the warm up. When ever I’d go inverted on a roll or something, it would compress my diaphragm and trigger a cough.

Tim led class. We covered entry into single legged X guard, the basic sweep backwards, and a counter to our opponents stepping back to avoid that sweep. We disengage slightly, kick them in the butt to off balance, and then when they catch themselves and stand back up, we reengage and sweep right away.

We did five 7 minute rounds. I had Danny, Darryl, Meli, Tim and Dave. I did what I could to keep up and stay safe with Danny. He did compliment my defense after the round. Darryl and I were near even. The first 2 or 3 minutes with Tim went really well for me, where I had a near back take from deep half and some good escapes. The rest of the round went more as usual. He hit a neat rolling kimura to the back from standing. Same technique as I’ve been using, but with a different entry. Last round with Dave went pretty good. No submissions, but general positional dominance.
