Mini X Pass

Ufff. 98 degrees yesterday made for a hot and sweaty mess on the mat. We took it slow and drank plenty just to keep up.

It was the first of Bernardo’s actual classes. We learned a pass that was a variation on the X pass. Derrick and I were drilling it and we dubbed it the lazy X pass, because the setup isn’t as involved. We then continued the sequence with our opponents attempting to turtle up or thread the needle after we pass…from there we can Ezekiel choke from the knee pillow position. And lastly if they defend against that, we can gift wrap up one of their arms, mount, and then transition to an armlock.

Then we rolled. I drew Derrick, Dan, Tim and Judo Jen. Didn’t do great, but against that crew it’s unlikely that I do anyways, let alone on a night where my goal was to just keep moving!
