Hour of Zen

Another noon class. This may be the new normal going forward, at least for a while. They do have a good crowd and a good mix of people though, so that’s good.

Lesson of the day was combination. The first was a single leg reversal. After your opponent secures you leg, you bump and move their head to the outside, secure their belt and opposite leg at the knee. Then you hop forward with your free leg and sit, causing them to somersault. You end up in mount.

Then we learned a stiff armed mount escape. Grab their belt, with your hand on their hip bones. Bump, then stiff arm, so they pivot over your arms, insert your knees, rock up and establish guard. Or…rock up to butterfly, and immediately sweep into side control.

I had a round with Blue Belt Mason and with Mikey D. I felt slow, weak, and defensive the whole time. Not my best day.
