Conventional wisdom has it that jiu jitsu guys suck and wrestling, specifically take downs. And it’s true. There a reason why wrestling is an art in and of itself. It’s hard.
So for the nooner today, we stepped back and reviewed two of the very basics, the sprawl and tie up entry. The big take away on the sprawl was that our hips should remain square to the floor on the way down, else we’re just going to get rolled over. And for the entry, don’t reach…move everything, foot, head, hands at the same time.
For rounds, I had short ones with Darren, Tim and Phil. Did great with Darren. Okay with Tim. Bad with Phil. Just ran out of gas with no break in between rounds.
